Maryellen Maley
Adjunct Professor of Law
Director of Online Legal Writing Program
Prior to her legal career, Maryellen Maley worked as a surgical nurse at
Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago. While working full
time, Maryellen attended law school and was a member of Loyola's Law Review.
She received four AmJur awards for the highest grades in three of the
required first year courses as well as Contracts for Health Professionals.
After law school she practiced health care law at Vedder, Price, Kaufman and
Kamholtz, with a focus on trade & professional associations, physician
representation, and regulatory & compliance. Maryellen then served as
associate legal counsel, regulatory affairs, for Weiss, a University of
Chicago Hospital. She worked on the medical liability committee at the
American Academy of Pediatrics. She taught online legal research for
LexisNexis at University of Chicago, Notre Dame, Valparaiso, and Loyola Law
Schools.
